Feeding Scheme in South Africa

Feeding Scheme in South Africa

The average monthly household income in the 42 surveyed disadvantaged communities of Nelson Mandela Bay is R801 (Aggregated Data of Metro ‘Change’ Areas 2008). As a result of this many of the children partaking in our programs do so having not eaten for the day and rather relying on one meal every two to three days.

Food is the most basic of needs that humans require and if this need is not satisfied it makes it very difficult to think about anything else. We therefore cannot expect the children within our programs to develop in sport and education without their basic need for food being met.

It is therefore imperative for us that we feed all of the children in our Junior and Senior School of Excellence Programs everyday!

R100 per month will feed a child within our programmes everyday.
